 Food Production Lead

Projected Start Date: 1/8/18
Tentative Schedule: 5:00am – 1:00pm on student days only
Temporary 89-day hire position with possibility of continued employment

Summary:
Instructs employees engaged in cooking and serving meals, and in maintaining area and equipment in sanitary condition.  Supervises and assists in the preparation of meals.  Serves as cook-lead.  Provides support with administrative and compliance items.  Performs other related duties as assigned.  

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required.  (1) Five years of experience in quantity cooking, of which one year must have been in a supervisory capacity; or (2) any equivalent combination of experience and training. 

Must be competent in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office, internet and other electronic communication systems and be able to acquire additional skills for use of software, databases or other information systems as necessary.

Knowledge of: Some principles of dietetics, food sanitation and service; kitchen management; quantity cookery; the use and care of cooking utensils and equipment; principles and practices of supervision; menu planning; food purchase and storage. Preparation of raw and processed food to be cooked; methods, materials and equipment used in cleaning kitchen appliances and utensils; kitchen safety and sanitation requirements; personal hygiene; hazards and safety precautions applicable to the operation of trucks.

Ability to: Instruct and supervise others in cooking activities; estimate amounts of food necessary to meet menu requirements; arrange and maintain work schedules; prepare and cook a variety of food.  Learn quantity cookery; operate kitchen appliances; measure food servings and serve food; give and receive oral and written instructions; oversee the work of staff and student workers; work cooperatively with others; tolerate kitchen heat; perform heavy lifting, moving and carrying; operate and maintain a food van; give and receive oral and written instructions; work well others; and carry heavy loads when necessary.

Driver's License Requirement:  Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license and satisfactory traffic abstract.

Must be ethical and honest.  Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, follow-through, and oral and written communication skills. Must be extremely flexible and able to work independently.  Must be knowledgeable and comfortable working with technology and software programs, and be able to acquire additional skills for use of software, databases or other information systems as necessary.

Must be able to meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources in and effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others.  Must be able to successfully analyze information, manage complexity, report results, enter data, and observe school and district policies as well as state and federal laws with attention to detail, confidentiality, and thoroughness.  Must accept responsibility and be self-motivated.  Must maintain a high level of confidentiality with regard to employees, students and parents and work effectively with school staff, district personnel, and the general public.

Summary:
Performs routine manual work in a school cafeteria for the preparation and serving of school meals and snacks; cleans kitchen appliances, utensils and serving counters; oversees the work of student helpers and monitors; operates a food van to transport food, food carts and related equipment and supplies; provides support with administrative and compliance items; and performs other related duties as assigned.  

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Summary:

Plans, organizes and implements an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Creates and delivers instruction for relevant elective curriculum including Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 classes. Develops and expands curriculum. Monitors student progress. Communicates with students and parents.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

Prefer valid Hawaii Teacher License and DOE HQT Certificate. 
Prior relevant teaching experience.
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Prior relevant teaching experience.

· Requires high school diploma and relevant experience.
· Requires TB clearance.
· Requires valid drivers license and satisfactory traffic abstract if assignment includeds driving a HAAS vehicle
